Pink Guess // thrifted
White Leather Skirt // mom's
Gold Chain Belt // thrifted
Clear Booties // Simmi

I've been obsessing over this vintage Guess sweater that I swooped from my local open air market recently. Not sure if it's because pink is my favorite color or the fact that it was 75 cents but it's definitely made it's way on my list of favorite thrifted items. The only downside is that it does have blue paint splattered everywhere. Dear girl (or guy) who previously owned this sweater, why would you dare do painting projects wearing this cute piece?? ANYWAYS. That just justified my reason for cutting it into a crop so I guess I'm not too bothered.

Getting back into the posting groove! Stay tuned for more content!

DIY/ Boujee Dollar Decor

Wow it's been a lifetime since I wrote out an actual blog post! Life has been hectic (when is it never) and I've been putting a lot of focus in Youtube the past couple months. However, I'm not here to talk about my busy schedule, we're here to talk about being broke & boujee!

So many of you enjoyed my DIY Boujee School Supplies video and the DIY Dollar Anthropologie Decor video so much that I decided to combine the two to create DIY Dollar Boujee Decor tutorials! You don't know how much fun I had making this video and seeing all of the boring #basic dollar supplies transformed into something beautiful. Check out the video below for all of the tutorials!

Currently living that broke & boujee lifestyle. brb.
PS. I will be gracing your feed with an update on my hectic life so stay tuned!

WEARING/ Magic Bra

$10 Magic Bra // NewChic
Dress Dress // NewChic

If you haven’t seen these magic bras yet then are you really from this earth? Everyone knows that these bras work wonders for our big breasted women but what about for the ladies in the Itty Bitty Titty Committee?! I wanted to put this $10 bra to the test to see what it could do for girls that have practically no boobs lol.

I received 2 bras from NewChic - a basic and a push-up. For my usual sticky backless bras I use the 'chicken cutlet' type of bras and because this is basically the same thing, I decided to apply it the same way. In order to push up the little goodies I've got, I place the bra closer to my armpit and lower toward the bottom of my boob. Placing it closer to your back allows the bra to bring everything together once it is laced up.

My final thoughts about this bra:
PROS // I feel like it totally does work! It definitely gave me more body in this dress than I did with out. The front lace-up closure in the front is a plus because unlike the cutlet bra, the lace-up feature allows you to adjust how tightly you want your boobs pushed together. The price is also a pro since it doesn't break the bank.
CONS // The only gripe that I have with this bra is that the center stops pretty high so unfortunately you're unable to wear anything that is plunging or deep-V.

Check out the video on my channel to see me review these two bras in action!

WEARING/ Floral Layers

Floral Cover Up // CAKYE in Pink
Black Bikini Top // Nasty Gal (similar)
Black Highwaist Bottoms // Thrifted (similar)

Usually I just use a dress or your basic tee + denim cut-offs to cover my body to and from the pool, and for someone like me photos usually mean me in my cover-up or me in my bikini - never both. So I've been dying to find something that can be more of an addition to my pool look because sometimes ya girl doesn't feel like being shot in just a bikini (lol). So here comes this cute cover-up to the rescue! This chiffon floral kimono from CAKYE is perrrfect for pairing over all of my black bikinis. Trust me, I have a lot. I was more drawn to this specific color way because of the modern take on their floral print and subtle de-saturated colors. I'm all about layering too so being able to wear this baby around the pool without getting hot is such a plus!

WEARING/ Vintage Valentino

Valentino Sweater Top // thrifted
Black Denim Shorts // thrifted
Diamond Fishnets // eBay
Black booties // MakeMeChic

I never would have thought red would be a good color on me, unless it's faded 3x like this top here. Probably the reason why I only have 2 red tops in my entire closet (lol). Picked up this vintage Valentino sweater top a few years back and have been wearing it a lot recently with this weather. It's literally one of the only sweater tops I own so I would probably shed a tear if I ever lost it. Also - can I just give a quick shoutout to those button details at the bottom waistband though?? I keep forgetting they exist and I feel they deserve some spotlight every once in a while.

5 Rituals For A Better Morning

Just 5 more minutes … 5 minutes turns to 10, which then turns to 20 and the next thing you know, you're running out the door with only one shoe on because you're running late. I was definitely a night owl in my early 20s and have had that same experience one too many times. Most of us wish we can rise to the sound of birds chirping, but let's be real - we are waaay too attached to our bed. Once I reaped the benefits of becoming an early riser, my days started to feel more productive and longer! Here's my list of 5 rituals to get you started on your road to a better morning :)

1. Wake up every day around the same time. I schedule myself to wake up every weekday morning at 6 am. Starting your day at the same time gets your body used to a certain routine; after a while your body will start to wake up naturally around that time. HOW you wake up is just as important. You're insane if you think anyone who hears that annoying alarm beep wakes up giddy and ready to conquer the world. No - they wake up irritated and wishing they could go back to the dreamiest of dreams where Leonardo DiCaprio is waiting on the beach with margaritas in hand. To save yourself the pain, opt for a low, subtle repetitive sound or song about 5 minutes prior to your actual wake up time. Your body will hear it and will slowly wake itself up from that deep sleep. Allowing your body to gradually awaken and regain consciousness will leave you less tired in the morning.

2. Drink plenty of water. You probably didn't realize you just went 6 - 8 hours without eating or drinking anything. The first thing I do after scooting my butt out of bed is down a full cup of cold water. Fluids help to rehydrate the body, flush out any toxins and stimulate your mind to start working. Even as an early bird I'm still half asleep waddling to the kitchen, however after that drink I'm alert and ready to begin my day.

3. Eat breakfast and plan out your day. Alright, so eating breakfast is too obvious so let me talk about everything but that. I find it very important to crack open my planner every morning to see what I have planned for the day. I am a bullet-journal type of gal which allows me get organized on what I need to do. If you're unfamiliar with bullet journaling, I suggest you check it out here to see what it's all about. This has helped me to get a clear understanding of how my whole day will look like. On top of writing down tasks, meetings, etc, I also have a section where I jot down one thing that I am grateful for that day. It can be anything like having your family around to something small like being able to breathe fresh air. Doing this honestly helps to put everything into perspective and to enjoy life with a more positive vibe.

4. Get your body moving. Not everyone's favorite thing to do, but it is crucial nonetheless. I used to exercise at night after work because it seemed the most convenient at the time, but after changing my workout schedule to the morning, life became 100x better. Not only does working out get your body energized but it's also one less thing off your to-do list. We all need to hit the gym, but often dread the thought of it after a long day at work. I usually forget that I already exercised in the morning so when I realize that it's crossed off my list for the day, nothing but satisfaction fills my body!

5. Meditate and pray. One of my favorite parts of the day - meditation. Everyone meditates differently, so for me this is what my practice looks like: I sit legs crossed, my selected gemstone for the week cupped in my hands, and body grounded outside with nothing but the birds talking and trees rustling. From there I usually just focus on prayers / deep thoughts, send praises to the Father or just draw a blank and bring attention to my breath. I do this right after I finish my intense workout so it helps a ton to calm me down and allows me to just enjoy being in the midst of nature. I look at this as the most important aspect for a better morning. Some may disregard this and say there's no time to fit meditating in a busy schedule. However I've caught myself spending 20 minutes easily watching Youtube videos, so if I'm like most of the population we can all spare 15 minutes out of the 1440 minutes we have in a day.

For me, the greatest thing about finishing meditation is knowing that it's only 8:15 am and most people haven't even pulled themselves out of bed by that time. I find it very satisfying knowing that I am having a productive morning while the world is still asleep. Just to state the obvious, don't forget to squeeze brushing your teeth and washing your face within those 2 hours - didn't think I needed to add that, but sometimes you never know. Keep at it with these routines and you'll be on your way to earning your early bird badge in no time!

DIY Kylie Jenner Sequin Dress

Rhinestone Choker // PrettyLittleThing (similar)
Sequin Dress // DIY
Levis Denim Jacket // thrifted (similar)
Clear Booties // Simmi

I'm so in love with Yousef Aljasmi's dress that Kylie wore for NYFW a couple seasons ago - too much that I needed to do a DIY video on it. Putting in over 3 hours on this dress does not justify wearing it out in public more than once. Until I rack up a couple hundred thousand bucks, this pretty little DIY will make for some gorgeous room decor.

How I Wear Midi Dresses

Black Shearling Coat // Lola Shoetique (similar)
Ribbed Slit Midi Dress // Zaful
Black Half Croc Boots // Zara (similar)
Black Aviator Sunnies // MakeMeChic

That one length that is an enemy to us short girls - midi. Trust me, anything midi length just does not look as good as it does on tall girls.  Fear not my fellow short babes - because although this type of length is not on my must-have list, I have a few tricks that I use to pull off a midi dress.

1. Bodycon // Lengthening is key for any short fashionista, so when it comes it midis you have to make it look like you're taller than you really are. Because midis cut you off at the calf, a boxy dress will make you look stumpy and even shorter. With that said, choose a bodycon dress vs a loose fitting dress to make your figure slimmer.
2. Show Skin // Opt for a dress or skirt that has a slit. Showing more leg will make your legs seem longer, hence giving you a taller look!
3. Heels // I totally failed at this one for this outfit and would've definitely used my leather heeled booties, but always always go for heels when wearing this type of dress. Wearing heels or heeled booties will heighten your posture and will illude anyone to think you're taller than you really are.

These are just a few tips that I use when wearing midis dresses, so I hope this helps anyone who was on the fence about buying anything midi. Don't let this length stop you from buying what you want! Happy midi shopping loves!

UPCYCLED/ Jumpsuit to Matching Set

White Sheer Tank // Bella Luxx (similar)
Studded Pants // Thrifted

This jumpsuit was bought in my early thrifting days (nearly 7 years ago) with the intention to resize it and make it cute again. I can't believe I've dragged it around after 2 house moves and have finally decided to upcycle this bad boy. Yes yes I know it totally looks like a Las Vegas Elvis Presley impersonator outfit, but I just couldn't resist the shiny gold studs and gem buttons!

Watch me transform this oversized jumpsuit into a cute little matching set!

March 28, 2017

Dad's been working up North in Reno, NV for the past few months so Tiara and I decided to make a trip up there to visit him. Not until after I landed did I realize Reno is just an older, smaller Vegas. We were up there for 3 days so we had to make the most out of it. Luckily Lake Tahoe is less than an hour away and we also had a lay-over in Salt Lake City so I was able to visit 3 cities within one trip!
One stop that was pretty interesting was a city called Virginia City, an extremely old historic town. I absolutely loved every creeky-looking building and all the ghost vibes that came with it.
Unfortunately, my phone was broken during this trip and I didn't think twice to bring my camera for photos. Could you tell all of these were taken on T's iPhone? I guess you can, although it's not thaat bad.
